Redmatica Crossfades and Cannelloni Clinics Kick Off
Los Angeles Summer Sampling Festivities
Special Note: San Francisco Date Just Added (see below)
May 1, 2008, Santa Barbara, CA: Hot on the heels of their overwhelmingly delicious Loops and Linguini tour through the eastern U.S. and Canada, software innovator Redmatica and their American distributor, MV Pro Audio, announced an Il primo set of public clinics in southern California. Slated for the first week of June, the Crossfades and Cannelloni sessions will once again feature Redmatica’s engaging founder and chief technical officer Andrea Gozzi, who is rapidly gaining renown for his sample-processing prowess and encyclopedic knowledge of regional Italian cuisine.
Three appearances are scheduled,
one at the Logic Pro Users Group meeting, a second at West LA Music’s Santa Monica store, and the third at the West LA Music Universal City location. At each, Senor Gozzi will be demonstrating the critically-acclaimed Compendium Bundle, a suite of sophisticated tools that automate the traditionally painstaking tasks associated with the creation and management of sample-based instruments. Keymap 1.5., a premier component of the bundle and recipient of Electronic Musician magazine’s prestigious 2008 Editors Choice Award, will be prominently featured. Question and answer sessions will follow each demonstration, and special pricing will be available on purchases made at the events.
Gozzi expressed his delight at the enthusiastic response he received on the recently completed Loops and Linguini journey. “I have to say, it took me a little while to get used to all the whoops and cheers from the audience during the demos,” he offered. “But being Italian, I’m not exactly a stranger to emotional behavior. It seems musicians just can’t contain their excitement when they see software that frees them to be creative rather than being bogged down in technology.”
As a tribute to the free-wheeling LA vibe, Gozzi will be sporting a deep charcoal gray outfit at the clinics, rather than his traditional all-black garb. “Sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind,” he mused.
